The Ruckus
Spun from the timbers of heart and soul, the Ruckus took its first musical breath in Denton, Texas in 2013. The songs carry stories of heritage, spirituality, redemption, and love gained and lost.
They broke out by winning both the 2014 Texas Music Showdown and the Shiner Rising Star competition, then took their heavy, soul-fueled sound through Texas, Georgia, New York and the Midwest — from Billy Bob's and the House of Blues to Gruene Hall, opening for Ray Wylie Hubbard.

Press
“A perfectly mixed Old Fashioned — the squared-jaw and fire of rye whiskey, the distinctness of bitters, and sweetness of sugar. Best enjoyed at full volume.”
Texas Music Pickers
“Psychedelic Americana made by musicians who take the ‘outlaw’ part of ‘outlaw country’ very seriously.”
D Magazine
“Imagine Soundgarden meets Vince Gill. It's a winning combination.”
Fort Worth Sound
“Solid gold country standard, with a kicked-up tempo and a seventies southern soul injection.”
No Depression
“Soulful, wild & crazy, strong lyrics that make you listen. A must-see band.”
